Subject- Regarding change of powers of various authorities to sanction deceased claim cases and their time lines in post office saving Schemes ,including saving certificates, where no nomination is registered and there is no legal evidence produced.


Sir/madam,

      The undersigned is directed to say that the competent authority has diceded to amend to text of aforesaid rules with immediate effect.

The authorities mentioned below are competent to sanction death claims without producing legal evidence up limit noted against each. After the expiry of 6 months from the date of death of the depositer,

1. Time scale Departmental pm      upto Rs. 5000/-
2. Spm in LSG or PM grade I            Upto Rs. 10000/-
3. SPM,Dy.PM,PM in higher grade  upto Rs. 25000/-
4. Sr.PM,Dy.PM,Superintendent of po upto RS.100000/-
5. Chief PM, Sr. Supdt. Of po            upto Rs. 250000/-
6. Director GPO ,Rrgional Director upto Rs.375000/-
7. CPMG , PMG                              upto Rs. 500000/-
